NI prisoner found dead in his cell

A sex offender has been found dead in his cell in Magilligan jail, Co Antrim. Hugh McNamara (46) was serving 10 years for offences including rape and indecent assault. A spokesman for the Northern Ireland Prison Service said McNamara was found dead when his cell was unlocked early yesterday. "Preliminary investigations showed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the prisoner's death."
