EDINBURGH - The Scottish Secretary, Mr Donald Dewar, yesterday unveiled plans for an architectural competition to design a Scottish parliament "fit for the millennium and beyond".

Several sites in Edinburgh are being considered and one will be chosen after the referendum on devolution in September. Once the location has been decided, the design competition, open to architects from around the world, will be held. - (PA)
