Bertie Og Murphy has quit his post as manager of the Cork senior hurlers after just one season in charge.
Murphy tendered his resignation at a meeting of the county board earlier this month but his decision has yet to be officially announced.
Despite approaches by a number of board officials, Murphy has steadfastly refused to change his mind leaving the board to search for a new manager for the second year in succession .
Last year, Tom Cashman, who succeeded Jimmy Barry Murphy in the Rebels'hot seat, also departed the post after his debut season.
Cork had endured a fractious season, suffering a defeat in the Munster championship at the hands of Waterford before being humiliated by Galway in the qualifiers, losing by 10 points.
There were also a number of off-the-field issues to contend with after a number of players went public with claims that the squad was treated like "second-class citizens" and the relationship between players and management was becoming increasingly strained.
