A 21 year old motorist was accused of bullying his way out of a junction in "road rage" manner by Judge John Brophy at Navan District Court yesterday. The judge convicted him of driving without due care and attention and fined him £250 "for his ill mannered driving".

Sgt Liam Buggy said he had been a passenger in a car coming out of an estate. Two other cars were also waiting to exit.

The defendant was driving the third car and had gone straight out, around the other vehicles and on to the main road at Abbeylands.

The defendant, Thomas Carolen, Lisanisky, Kells Road, Kingscourt, Co Cavan, told the court the two cars in front of him seemed to be sitting there a long time. While he could see there were two cars approaching he did not think he would cause an accident by pulling out.
