Met Éireann are forcasting a mild but windy weekend. A gale warning was issued today for southerly gales tonight on coasts from Mizen Head to Erris Head to Fair Head. Winds will occasionally reach strong gale force on Western and Northern coasts.

Punters traveling to the Navan Race Meet - one of the highlights of the weekend sports diary - will have the benefit of a special bus service.

Bus Éireann is running a service from Dublin to the meet tomorrow with departures from Busaras at 11.30 a.m., returning to the city immediately after the last race. Return tickets cost €8.85 and must be purchased in advance.

DART passengers are advised that a bus transfer between Dún Laoghaire and Bray and Greystones DART stations will be in operation for all services between 9 p.m. on Saturday night and 1 p.m. on Sunday to facilitate track renewal.

Iarnród Éireann have announced some limited disruption to services on the Westport to Ballina route due to ongoing track upgrading. As a result bus services will link Westport and Castlebar with Claremorris on some days over the next 14 weeks. Passengers are advised to check with Iarnród Éireann for details.

Passengers intending to travel with Irish Ferries or Stena Line are advised that changes are being implemented to Rosslare to Pembroke sailings. Stena Line's Dún Laoghaire to Hollyhead sailing is cancelled until February 11th to allow for the annual refit of the HSS Stena Explorer. Passengers can alternatively travel on the Dublin Port to Hollyhead route.

Aer Rianta reported all flights arriving and departing from Dublin, Cork and Shannon Airports are on time and expects no changes to services over the weekend.

AA Roadwatch reported that road conditions are expected to be good for the weekend. Motorists are advised that Oliver Plunkett St in Cork remains closed.
