Men charged over Dublin cannabis

Two men have been remanded in custody in relation to the seizure of €750,000 of cannabis in Dublin at the weekend.

Two men have been remanded in custody in relation to the seizure of €750,000 of cannabis in Dublin at the weekend.

Malachy Boyle (41), Church Street , Roslea, Co Fermanagh and Michael Shannon (44), The Meadows, Rosferna, Murroe, Limerick were before Dublin District Court this morning charged under the Misuse of Drugs Acts with posession of cannabis for sale or supply.

Judge Gerard Haughton remanded both men in custody to appear before Cloverhill court on Friday, October 23rd.

They were arrested in Dublin on Saturday by members of the Garda National Drugs Unit.

Gardaí stopped a car and a Northern-registered truck at Airside Retail Park, Swords at 12.30pm on Saturday.

A search of the truck yielded 50kg of cannabis pollen – a strong cannabis product produced for smoking – and 10kg of cannabis herb.
