A man questioned about the murder of a pensioner attacked at his home near Belfast has been released without charge.

A man questioned about the murder of a pensioner attacked at his home near Belfast has been released without charge.

The 31-year-old was detained by officers investigating the deal of Royal Navy veteran Charlie Steed.

Mr Steed, 92, was beaten to death and dumped in the bedroom of his house at Canberra Park, Dundonald.

He was found on February 26th by neighbours who noticed milk still on his doorstep and is understood to have died from head injuries.

Mr Steed, who suffered from arthritis, had lived alone at the house on the outskirts of East Belfast, since the 1960s.
