MOGADISHU - One man was killed and another seriously wounded when heavily armed supporters of Somali faction leader, Gen Mohamed Farah Aidid, broke up a peace demonstration outside Mogadishu's largest mosque yesterday, witnesses reported.
More than 5,000 people had gathered outside the Islamic Alliance Mosque for prayers. Ten battle wagons and about 100 of Gen Aidid's militiamen blocked the road and shouted at the peace demonstrators to leave the area.
