Gardai in Wicklow are still questioning a Dublin man about a robbery in 1993 of a public house in Roundwood, Co Wicklow, which led to the premature death of a publican, Mr Matthew Fagan.
The man was arrested yesterday under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and taken to Wicklow Garda station. He can be held for another day without charge.
Mr Fagan received a blow to the head during the late night robbery of his public house on April 19th, 1993. He received treatment in hospital but discharged himself. However, two days later he collapsed and was taken back to hospital where he died on May 1st, 1993.
It is understood that information relating to the incident arose as a result of inquiries into the killing of Mr Tom Nevin during a robbery at his public house, Jack White's, outside Arklow two months ago.
