A 43-year-old man was today charged in Northern Ireland with perverting the course of justice and withholding information during an investigation into the murder of a man in an arson attack.

Thomas O'Hare, aged 33, and his 21-year-old girlfriend Lisa McClatchey were doused in petrol and set alight by a gang at their home in Tassagh, near Keady in Co Armagh on Monday night.

Miss McClatchey remains in a serious condition in Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital.

Police on both sides of the Irish border have been probing a link between the attack and the appearance at a hospital in Dundalk on the southern side one hour later of four brothers with burns.
