A man (20) has appeared before Limerick District Court this morning in relation to a drive-by shooting in the village of Ballyneety on Tuesday.

Paul Reddan from the Moyross area of Limerick appeared before Judge Tom O'Donnell charged with recklessly discharging a firearm contrary to Section 8 of the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act.

He was arrested in the Ballinacurra/Weston estate after a number of shots were fired at a man in a van from another car as he drove along the Limerick-to-Bruff Road.

Two people are believed to have been in the van, but no one was injured.

Judge O'Donnell remanded the accused in custody with consent to bail to appear again before Limerick District Court on September 28th next.
