Minister for Education Ruairí Quinn has announced details of the career programme that forms part of a major forum in Dublin this July.

The city won the right to host the Euroscience Open Forum, the largest scientific conference in Europe, this year. It will bring more than 5,000 delegates to Dublin over five days from July 11th to 15th.

“The conference will show the world that Ireland is open for business and serious about science,” Mr Quinn said. There will be a major careers exhibition in the Dublin convention centre, where the forum will be based. A “Career Zoo” will also feature live recruiting.

Ireland needs to inspire more students to consider science, engineering and maths careers, Mr Quinn said.
