Abidjan - An Ivory Coast military prosecutor yesterday demanded life sentences for eight gendarmes charged with the murder of 57 people in political violence last year.
The eight have been on trial for killing 57 suspected supporters of an opposition leader, barred from taking part in a presidential election last October.
