This year's Parnell Summer School planned for August, will explore the issue of land and its influence on Irish history, society and culture.

The seven day school, organised by the Parnell Society, is aimed at those who have an interest in Irish history, politics, literature and society. It will be held at Avondale, Co Wicklow.

Dr Carla King, summer school director, believes this year's theme, "Land, People and Politics", will combine some of the important issues which have shaped and continue to influence Irish society.
