Charlie Kray, older brother of the former gangland twins Reggie and Ronnie, and said to be the mastermind in a £39 million drugs plot, was found guilty yesterday on a charge of supplying cocaine.
Kray could have made a fortune had not the "heavies" he was dealing with turned out to be undercover police officers, the prosecution said at Woolwich Crown Court.
The former professional boxer, who will be 71 next month, was convicted on Thursday of offering to supply 5 kg of cocaine every fortnight for two years. But a legal ban prevented the verdict being reported. The order was lifted only after he was convicted yesterday of actually supplying a 2 kg consignment.
