The Labour Party chairman, Mr Jim Kemmy, has welcomed the Budget as a "well balance one which would help consolidate the healthy economy Ireland currently enjoys.
Mr Kemmy welcomed, in particular, the widening of the standard rate tax band and the increase of employees' PRSI to £80, increases in and child benefit and the incentives aimed at encouraging the employment of the long term unemployed.
