Armour Pharmaceutical Ltd has asked the High Court to dismiss proceedings brought by an Irish haemophiliac with HIV, who claims he became infected by a blood product the firm manufactured. Mr Justice Finnegan reserved judgment.
The man is one of a number of haemophiliacs who claim to have been contaminated with HIV as a result of receiving blood products manufactured by US pharmaceutical companies.
Yesterday's proceedings involved a challenge by Armour lawyers to the correctness of the High Court Master's decision to renew for a further six months a summons issued on behalf of one of the haemophiliacs.
All the haemophiliacs have been allowed anonymity.
