Tokyo - After a day of political turmoil, the Japanese foreign minister, Ms Makiko Tanaka, said she had decided to obey the instructions of the prime minister, Mr Junichiro Koizumi, to replace four top officials at her department including the ambassador to the United States, Mr Shunji Yanai.
