The horse breeder and entrepreneur, Mr J.P. McManus, yesterday inaugurated eight annual scholarships each worth up to £3,000 a year for sixth-year graduates at his old school, Colaiste Mhichil, CBS, Sexton Street, Limerick.
Mr McManus said this was a tribute to his alma mater. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of overall excellence in the Leaving Certificate, with one being reserved for an outstanding student in art.
