The Bush administration told Congress today of plans to sell up to $1.3 billion worth of missiles, munitions and other equipment to Israel.
Israel is seeking to buy 1,700 advanced Hellfire II missiles plus 100 Patriot guidance enhanced missile-plus munitions and 2,000 radio frequency TOW 2A missiles, the Pentagon's Defence Security Cooperation Agency said in a statement.
The agency said the prime contractor for the sale would be Raytheon Co.
The notice of a proposed sale is required by US law and Congress has the power to reject it.
