The manufacturing sector in Ireland expanded at the fastest rate for more than six years last month, according to the latest NCB Purchasing Managers' Index.
The index rose to 55.4, up by 0.4 from May and the highest level since May 2000. Figures above 50 indicate growth.
NCB economist Dermot O'Brien said the figures showed that the recovery in Irish manufacturing was now well established.
Activity, new orders and employment all showed their biggest rise in six years.
