Twenty eight people were injured last night when a ferry crashed into a wall in Dover harbour, P&O Ferries said.
The 28,559 tonne Pride of Provencewas arriving from Calais at about 5.30 p.m. when it hit a breakwater as it entered the harbour, company spokesman Chris Laming said.
Ten of the casualties were taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Kent, and the others were given first aid by paramedics on board the ferry.
Duty hospital manager Mr Dai Davies, of East Kent Hospitals NHS Trust, said seven of the patients who began arriving from 6.15 p.m. had minor injuries such as cuts and grazes.
One suffered a "rib trauma" and the other two had whiplash but none of the injuries were life threatening, Mr Davies said.
All the casualties, who included P&O staff, were discharged last night.
