Average industrial earnings increased by 4.3 per cent in the year to the end of June, compared with June 2005, according to new figures.
Industrial hourly earnings rose by 5 per cent, while average hours worked decreased by 0.7 per cent in the same period, the Central Statistics Office said.
In the industrial, clerical and managerial sector, average weekly earnings were up by 3.2 per cent in the year to the end of June.
The rise consists of increases of 4.3 per cent for industrial employees and 1.9 per cent for clerical and managerial employees combined.
