New Delhi - India's Foreign Minister, Mr Jaswant Singh, yesterday said New Delhi was not being dictated to by any country to sign a global nuclear test ban treaty.

"The signing of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) is not dictated by any country and it is the sovereign right of India," Mr Singh told the lower house of parliament.

The US, which imposed sanctions on India after its nuclear tests in May 1998, eased sanctions against 51 Indian companies last week and allowed them to source goods and technologies from Washington.
