Mr Sigurdur Arngrimmson with an address in Malo, Sweden, was released by gardai in Bandon, Co Cork, yesterday evening and rearrested immediately.

The man, who is in his 60s, was remanded in custody overnight and is due to appear before Skibbereen District Court this morning. Mr Arngrimmson was captain of the Tia which was seized by the Naval Service and brought to Castletownbere, Co Cork last Wednesday.

An extensive search of the 150 foot coaster was carried out but no drugs were found. The other three crew members were released at the weekend. A Cork man arrested on Saturday is being questioned by gardai in connection with the vessel.
