Heroin consignment found in Meath holiday resort

Gardaí have seized £100,000 worth of heroin and a large amount of cash in Bettystown Co Meath

Gardaí have seized £100,000 worth of heroin and a large amount of cash in Bettystown Co Meath. Two men and a woman have been arrested.

A Garda spokesman said the drugs were found after a long period of surveillance on a mobile home and an apartment in the holiday resort village.

The spokesman could not confirm the amount of cash that was found.

It is believed the drugs were destined for the inner city Dublin market and Bettystown was being used as a drop-off point.

The three arrested are being held in Kevin St and Kilmainham Garda stations in Dublin.
