Clinicians at Cork University Hospital (CUH) are holding a free information session in the main auditorium, CUH at 2pm on Saturday, April 17th. This event is part of Bowel Cancer Awareness month and is supported by the Irish Cancer Society.
More than 2,200 people in Ireland are diagnosed with bowel cancer every year and it is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in both men and women in Ireland. See cancer.ie
St Patrick’s Hospital and Shine will host a public talk on psychosis: Options for Recovery at the Lecture Hall, St Patrick’s University Hospital, Dublin 8 tomorrow at 7.30pm. The event will be chaired by Jim Walsh, lecturer in mental health, School of Nursing at DCU, and speakers include: Cillian Russell, Rehabilitation Services, Shine; Martha Griffin and Fionn Fitzpatrick, The Gateway Project; and Dervla Kennedy, St Patrick’s University Psychosis Programme.

St John of God Hospital in Stillorgan, Co Dublin will run a public lecture series, Minding the Mind, on Mondays throughout April and May. Topics will include: Give your Mental Health a Workout through exercise, Understanding Eating Disorders; Alcoholism: The Way Forward; Coping with Retirement; Sleep: What is it? How do I get it?; Treatment of Bipolar Disorder.

Irish Stammering Association is hosting a Caint gan Eagla or Talk Without Fear day on April 17th. The day is open to everyone who is challenged by stammering.
