Prime Years, a free international photography exhibition celebrating ageing, runs in the Gallery of Photography, Temple Bar, Dublin, until May 29th (Tues-Sat 11am-6pm, Sun 1pm-6pm) as part of Bealtaine, the countrywide festival celebrating creativity in older age held every year in May. The UK-based charity, Action Against Medical Accidents, is hosting a conference on catastrophic birth and child injuries in Dublin tomorrow.

A public lecture on how the body’s immune system turns against itself in autoimmune diseases goes ahead on Thursday, May 19th, at 7pm in the Merrion Room, RDS, Ballsbridge, Dublin. The lecture will be given by Dr Kate A Fitzgerald, associate professor of medicine at the University of Massachusetts, US. The Irish ME/CFS Association is hosting free screenings of Invisible, a documentary about ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome this month.
