A free public lecture on how to deal with eczema will be held in Galway City tonight at the Corrib Great Southern Hotel. Hosted by the National Eczema Society and entitled "The Care and Management of Eczema", the lecture begins at 8 p.m. and will be presented by consultant dermatologist Dr, Mary Garvey.

A new "Carers Alert Card" was launched by the Carers Association at the Mansion House in Dublin last Wednesday. The card has been designed to be carried by carers at all times in case of an accident, and explains to those who find it that someone in continuous need of help may be waiting for the card holder to return to them.

The card is sponsored by WelCare Foods, a frozen meals home delivery service, and is available from the Carers Association, St Mary's Community Centre, Richmond Hill, Rathmines, Dublin 6. Tel 01 4974498/4974131.

The 22nd International Federation of Haemophilia will be held in UCD in Dublin from 23rd-28th Jude. The congress, held, every two years, is being hosted by the Irish Haemophilia Society. Discussion on the possibility of a cure for haemophilia will revolve around gene therapy, and there will be symposiums on HIV, Hepatitis, Von Willebrand's disease and on women's bleeding disorders. A showing of the documentary When Happiness Is A Place For, Your Child will take place in the University of Limerick Concert Hall this evening at 8 p.m. Produced by journalist Anne Daly, the documentary presents a different perspective of life for the mentally handicapped. The documentary will be broadcast on RTE 1 TV on Thursday, July 11th, at 10 p.m.
