The Western Health Board is inquiring into allegations of child abuse by an employee, writes Lorna Siggins. The subject of the investigation has "no access to children within a work environment", the board said yesterday.
Two care workers are being investigated by gardai in relation to alleged sexual abuse at a children's home run by a religious order. One of the workers is employed by the board, and it is understood the allegations relate to a period before that employment.
