Who said the Greens aren't different? They may be in government in Germany. but in Burkina-Faso they have managed to cope with success in a more satisfactory manner.
The European Federation of Green Parties' newsletter states there are now two green ministers on the African continent and their approach to politics is rather novel. "Despite being in opposition, the BurkinaFaso Greens have chosen the offer to form part of the Government whilst at the same time still intending to act as an opposition."
Of this astute management of their affairs Deputy John Gormley says "fair play to the lads, who are obviously full-time members of the `having your cake and eating it' school of politics." Future partners here should take careful note.
