Aer Lingus operates daily flights from Dublin to Glasgow. From Glasgow drive either to Mallaig (for a Skye ferry service) or on to Kyle of Lochalsh for access to the bridge over to the island. Skye is about five hours by road from Glasgow. Weekend car hire rates start at £65 (Hertz: 01667-462 652). There is also a daily rail service from Glasgow to Mallaig.
