The German Federal Prosecution Office said today authorities had released an airport worker detained in connection with terror attacks in the United States.

A spokeswoman for the Prosecutor's office said the man was released at midnight without being charged.

He had been taken into custody yesterday because he was in an apartment in the northern city of Hamburg that had been used by several suspects in the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon on Tuesday in which thousands of people are feared to have been killed.
