Bruhl - Rescuers said they hoped to complete their search yesterday for bodies in the tangled wreckage of a European express train that crashed in Germany.
At least eight people - and not nine as originally announced - died and more than 100 others were injured when the train left the tracks and struck a house on Sunday. Police said they did not expect to find any more survivors in the wreckage.
The train, heading from Amsterdam to Basle with 300 passengers on board, was derailed as it broke the speed limit on a restricted section near the suburban station of Bruhl. It jumped the tracks and ploughed into a house.
