EIGHT people were being questioned in Dublin Garda stations last night about the murder of P.J. Judge, the drug dealer shot dead outside a Finglas pub on December 8th.
This brings to 15 the number of people arrested for questioning during the Garda investigation of the murder.
Among those being questioned is a member of a major criminal family based in Finglas which had close links to the dealer. He is a relative of a woman believed to have been beaten by Judge in the fortnight prior to his murder.
Members of the family have also been linked to the murder of Michael Brady, who was shot dead in Dublin last September.
The eight, including one woman, were being held last night under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act which allows detention without charge for 48 hours. They were arrested from a number of areas around Dublin between 7.30a.m. and 8.30 am. yesterday.
Judge, who was considered the major supplier of cannabis and heroin in Finglas, Cabra and Ballymun, was shot dead as he left the Royal Oak Pub on Finglas Road. He was shot twice in the head as he sat in his car in the pub car park.
