GARDAI ARE investigating the sudden death of a woman in Co Kilkenny yesterday.

GARDAI ARE investigating the sudden death of a woman in Co Kilkenny yesterday .

The 51-year-old woman was injured near a house at Kilfane, Thomastown yesterday afternoon.

She died in an ambulance on her way to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

Gardaí yesterday sealed off the scene in the rural area pending forensic examination.

The office of the State Pathologist has been notified by gardaí. A post mortem on the woman’s body is due to take place tomorrow.

The Garda were unable to confirm whether or not the death was being treated as suspicious.
