Gardai are investigating the fatal shooting of a young man in Dublin city early this morning.
The 25-year-old victim was attacked by two armed men at a house at Sillogue Road in Ballymun at 3 a.m. It is understood that the men were armed with a handgun and a sword.
An initial post-mortem examination indicated that the man was shot in the chest.
Gardai said the scene has been preserved for technical examinations. Officers have appealed for witnesses to come forward. An incident room has been set up at Ballymun Garda Station.
