Gardaí have appealed to mariners in west Cork for assistance in locating a missing bale of cocaine from the €108 million consignment of the drug washed up in Dunlough Bay.

Gardaí believe a bale of the drug was spotted floating in the sea near Mizen Head on Monday night.

It is understood that gardaí believe there may have been 62 bales of cocaine in the shipment, but only 61 bales have been recovered so far.
