Gardaí are continuing to investigate how a 69-year-old man, whose funeral took place yesterday, sustained serious head injuries outside a pub in Co Mayo in December, writes Tom Shiel.

Frank Healy from Behy, Ballycastle, died in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, last week having failed to regain consciousness after sustaining injuries outside the Seaview Lounge, Ballycastle, on December 16th.

A large crowd went to the funeral in Ballycastle. Mr Healy is survived by his wife, Bernadette, and four grown-up children.

Gardaí have interviewed a number of people. Four people were arrested last week and later released.
