Gardaí have launched a murder investigation following the discovery this morning of the body of a 17-year-old boy outside Killarney, Co Kerry.
Stephen Lyne, 17 years from Castlefalls, Muckross Road, Killarney, was found near the racecourse on the Ross Road at 1.45am today. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post mortem was carried out this afternoon by Dr. Margaret Bolster at Kerry General Hospital.
Gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have seen Stephen between 9.30 last night and 1.30am this morning to contact them.
