Some 11,000 free tickets for the ceremony at which U2 will be awarded the Freedom of Dublin City on March 18th will become available from 9.30 a.m. today. The tickets are being distributed from Ticketmaster outlets in Dublin and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each person turning up at the outlets will be given only two tickets for the ceremony at the Civic Plaza in Dublin's Smithfield. They will also be available on the Internet at www.ticketmaster.ie.
The Burmese resistance leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, will also be honoured at the ceremony. Her son, Kim Arif, will accept the freedom of Dublin on her behalf.
