Three Latvian men were killed in a car crash at Grainne's Gap ,Burnfoot, Co Donegal in the early hours of Saturday morning.

They were Janis Rogis,(21), Maris Valbe, age (22), and Danis Sters, (19), all three lived in Meenaward, Buncrana , Co Donegal.

One of the two victims of an incident in Co Wicklow has also been named.

He was John Cunningham, from Tallaght, aged 34. Gardaí have confirmed that Cunningham had absconded from Shelton Abbey open prison in Arklow a short time earlier.

He had been serving 18 months for car theft and trespassing and was due for release in a few months time.

He and his pillion passenger on a motorbike which crashed into an unoccupied bus on the N11 north of Arklow.
