Four prominent members of the Ulster Unionist Party, including two members of the Northern Ireland Assembly, face a disciplinary inquiry today at party headquarters in Belfast's Glengall Street.
The four men stood against official UUP candidates in the Assembly elections last June: Mr Denis Watson, who is also County Grand Master of the Orange Order for Armagh, won a seat in Upper Bann as a "United Unionist"; Mr Boyd Douglas, a Dungiven farmer, was successful in East Londonderry; the other two men - Mr Jack Beattie in Strangford and Mr William Wright in North Antrim - failed to win seats.
All four candidates stood to express their opposition to the Belfast Agreement. They were suspended from party membership last month.
