A US soldier was killed today in fighting north of Baghdad, while three others troops died in combat the day before west of the capital, the military said.
The Task Force Lightning soldier died and another was wounded while conducting combat operations in the mainly Sunni Salahuddin province north of Baghdad, according to a military statement.
Two soldiers and one Marine assigned to the Multi-National Force - West also died yesterday from wounds sustained due to enemy action in Anbar province, an insurgent stronghold west of the capital, the military added.
