FIVE PEOPLE were being held in two Dublin garda stations last night in connection with the death of Josie Dwyer, the AIDS victim and drug addict who was beaten to death by a group of men and women in Dolphin's Barn on Tuesday week last.

The five were being questioned under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act. This permits gardai to detain them for six hours with the possibility of a further six hour extension. Gardai last week questioned a man in relation to the incident but he was later released.
