The body of one of the two Enniskillen commercial eel fishermen recovered from Lough Conn, Co Mayo, yesterday is believed to be that of Jeremy Irvine, aged 29 and single. Positive identification using dental charts will be made at a post-mortem examination at the Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar this morning. The search continued up to late last night for Trevor Boyd (32) married with one child. His wife Jacqui is expecting their second child in June. They went missing on the lake while fishing for eels on April 2nd last.

An intensive search by the Garda underwater unit, voluntary groups and locals was maintained on the lake for the last four weeks after their 19-foot boat was found submerged in 50 feet of water about a half mile off shore.

Yesterday the body believed to be that of Mr Irvine was recovered in drag nets used by the Boyne Fishermen's Rescue Unit and the Lough Conn Anglers' Association. Mr Boyd's brother, Robert, and a family friend, Mr Peter Taylor, were in one of the search boats when the discovery was made.
