Dresden - The first new synagogue to be built on the territory of former East Germany since the Nazi era opened in Dresden yesterday.
November 9th is the anniversary of the "Crystal Night" of 1938 which marked the beginning of the Nazi pogroms and saw the burning down of Dresden's early 19th century synagogue. The new synagogue has cost about €10.5 million.
