`Fight to death' in Yangtze crisis

WUHAN - Chinese and volunteers yesterday manned dykes holding in rain swollen waters of the River Yangtze and vowed to sacrifice their lives to ensure that the river did cause flooding. Flood peaks roared towards the city, one of China's major industrial centres, and officials said they may have to divert waters in six places.
