A father who sexually assaulted his daughter when she was between seven and eight has been sentenced to the maximum term of five years in jail by Judge Cyril Kelly.
The 43-year-old man pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to five counts of sexual assault, between September 27th, 1991 and May 31st, 1993.
Judge Kelly directed the defendant should not be named or any other facts disclosed which could lead to identification of the girl, now 12.
