Gardai in Newport, Co Tipperary, are investigating the death of a 67-year-old bachelor farmer. His body was found in the yard of his home at Annagh, Lisnagry, Co Limerick, yesterday.
The alarm was raised when a neighbour found the man dead with a gash to his head. A Garda spokesman said they were treating the death as suspicious pending the outcome of a post mortem.
